Pinna Monuments in Indianapolis Indiana announced that they are expanding their QR code availability on all Indiana headstone and grave markers. QR codes located on tombstones allows you to add information that you and friends can add about your loved one, such as: an obituary, guestbook, family heritage and history, photos, comments by friends and relatives, and even links to share content on popular social sites such as Twitter and Facebook. This provides an interactive “living” memorial that will be a legacy for future generations.
Jim Pinna of Pinna Monuments explained their use of QR codes “The encoded URL inside the QR code refers to a special web site that you automatically construct through our web application. First, you create a login ID, and register the unique number on the plaque. Pinna Monuments will then provide you tools to create text, upload images, and type in references to online video, biography information, photos and other applications, so that you can augment your physical memorial with an electronic one.” “By using our application,” adds Pinna, “I see no need for special web development skills, to create a compelling memorial to highlight the life of your loved one.”
Adding a QR code link to the granite memorial which enables users of smart phones to connect to your personalized website. It can be viewed on the phone as visitors wander through the cemetery or on your computer by typing the unique web address into your internet browser. Although others may view the information, only visitors authorized by the family administrator can post information on the web page.
Pricing ranges between $99 to $399 for the QR code tiles and include a wide variety of options. The customer retains control of what is posted, so if someone else adds a video or a photo, the customer has to approve it before it is posted. The QR code can be added after the monument design has been finalized.
